The Kentucky Small Business Development Center (SBDC) seeks an Associate State Director. The Associate State Director's primary responsibilities include management and oversight for the delivery of all SBDC services to the small business community and clientele; ensuring quality control to meet performance requirements, comply with agency programmatic requirements, and to create economic impact. The position must have demonstrated experience and knowledge of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) program and is also knowledgeable and responsible for implementing procedures that align with the America's SBDC national accreditation quality standards. The position must have demonstrated experience and understanding of the entrepreneurial mind-set and small business needs and resources. Additionally this position provides technology-based solutions and serves as an overall resource to enable the Center to sustain quality services in research, training, counseling, and outreach and be responsive to small business needs.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required to establish a rapport with the small business community, promote the Center’s services, and be an effective consultant. The incumbent must possess a high degree of familiarity with computers and computer applications. The incumbent must also be at ease with speaking in public and presenting new ideas and information to company executives. The person must be well suited to changing workloads and assignments, and must exhibit the ability to work effectively under the stress of deadlines. The position also requires the ability to field wide-ranging questions on economic development, international trade, government procurement, capital access, and business development issues at seminars, conferences, training sessions, and from various media outlets.

Required License/Registration/Certification :
At least five years of experience and demonstrated understanding of SBDCs, Federal Grants, entrepreneurship, economic development and small business development with emphasis on research and consulting skills is preferred.
