The Senior Vice-President of Healthcare Administration position provides leadership, management, direction, and coordination of all daily operations of the health care center of Poydras Home, a continuous care retirement community located in New Orleans, LA.
This role monitors the quality of care and life of our residents and serves as a direct supervisor to self-managed work teams. The position accomplishes this through a respectful, constructive and energetic leadership style, guided by the objectives of the company.
Education and Experience
Required - Bachelor's degree in business or healthcare field.
Required - At least five years of strong operational experience.
Preferred - Master’s degree in business or related field.
Preferred - At least five years in a senior management role.
Preferred- Knowledge of the culture change movement in senior care
Required - Nursing Home Administrator license or willingness to attain license
Has experience in nursing home administration working with older adults. Experience should include supervision of personnel, financial planning, budgeting and physical plant management
Is computer literate
Maintains current knowledge of all relevant government regulations and entitlement programs (e.g. Titles XVIII and XIX)
Demonstrates an extensive knowledge of assisted living and nursing home organization and administration, standards and regulations and laws applicable to the community.
Experience in overseeing human resources, and comfortable overseeing information technology as it relates to the daily operations of assisted living and nursing care
Excellent people skills, with an ability to collaborate with a dynamic leadership team.
Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to corporate mission.
Flexible and able to multitask; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems.

Acts as lead "client-care officer" through direct contact with clients and partners.
Supports department directors in determining and providing services to meet resident needs, requests and expectations.
Puts systems in place to measure and improve resident satisfaction and work with communities to address areas of opportunities.
Coordinates and leads on-going education within the organization.
Provide feedback and support to work teams through ongoing evaluation of educational plans.
Serve as a mentor to work teams through daily interactions, coaching, and providing feedback.
Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company.
Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of the annual emergency preparedness plan in accordance with state regulatory guidelines.
Attends Board of Trustees meetings on third Thursday of each month as requested by the Chief Executive Officer.
Prepares monthly reports to the Chief Executive Officer.
Attends appropriate committee meetings as assigned.
In the event of a hurricane or other disaster or emergency situation, this role is required to be part of the Disaster Team. Depending on Disaster, Team assignment, may be required to shelter in place or evacuate with the Residents and staff to the designated evacuation locations as per the Emergency Preparedness Disaster Policy.
