The primary responsibility of the Associate Director for Faculty Diversity and Development is to work under the direction of the Dean of Academic Planning and Governance to develop and oversee the strategic management of Arts and Sciences' efforts to promote the diversity and professional development of the Arts and Sciences faculty.
The incumbent will work closely with the Vice Provost for Faculty Advancement with regard to faculty diversity and efforts to support an inclusive community of faculty. The incumbent will work closely with the data and reporting group in Arts and Sciences on all data, reporting, and survey related responsibilities.
Manage and guide all aspects for various faculty awards programs and RFPs, including communication, administration, selection, reporting, and tracking
Manage and guide the work of the Committee on Equity and Diversity (CED), including providing institutional research, managing timelines, and assisting in the formulation of policy recommendations
Manage, design, develop and oversee communications, build, test and implement surveys as needed and conduct data analysis
Administer and coordinate data collection and collaborate on reporting, including for search committees (search committee members, pipeline data, short list, interview list, on campus visits, offers, acceptances/declines), Faculty Information Form, named chairs, retentions/recruitments, tenure rates, leadership roles, salary, tenure rates, departures
Guide and administer faculty development efforts for Arts and Sciences, including the new chair orientations, as well as those organized through the Vice Provost for Faculty Advancement, including for the new faculty orientation and conference for advancing to tenure
Work in close collaboration with the Vice Provost for Faculty Advancement on search committee briefings, including contributing to and updating content
Stay current on research in higher education about faculty diversity and development with particular attention to best practices and innovative approaches; attend workshops and conferences as applicable
Prepare research report findings in narrative and graphic formats; assist with circulating findings in written or oral presentations
Collaborate and be point of contact for diversity and training initiatives across campus, including Provost's Office for Faculty Advancement, EOAA, CTL, GSAS, Ombud's office, among others
Provide logistical support as needed, including for diversity and development events, CED and search committee briefings
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree required. 4-6 years of related experience required. Advanced degree desirable.
