The Watkins Glen After School REACH Site Coordinator will serve as the Watkins Glen School District School Site Coordinator for Cornell Cooperative Extension of Schuyler County in support of the 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) 4-H After-School/Reach Program. The After-School Program provides comprehensive youth development opportunities for youth in grades 3-8 and their families in the Watkins Glen School District. The Site Coordinator will manage the day-to-day program operations and will provide program coordination to assist any on-site program assistants from CCE and the School District After-School Program Manager in ensuring the program meets health, safety and licensing standards and offers a quality youth development educational experience.
This is a part-time, 30 hours per week, non-exempt, benefits eligible position.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education (Associate's Degree plus 2 years of transferrable program/functional experience).
Experience relevant to the role of the position.
Valid NYS Driver's License and the ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.
Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate.
Demonstrated knowledge of subject matter appropriate to area of programming.
Demonstrated experience with organization and coordination of an After-School program.
Demonstrated ability to supervise staff, interns, teacher tutors and student tutors and provide oversight to volunteers.
Demonstrated ability to plan, teach and evaluate informal educational programs through a variety of delivery methods to reach individuals and groups; adults and youth.
Demonstrated ability to function as a team member working with volunteers and staff.
Demonstrated ability to organize reference materials for programming purposes.
Demonstrated ability to relate to diverse audiences.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively through oral, written and visual means.

Program Delivery - 5%
Provide educational programing consistent with established Program goals in keeping with Positive Youth Development standards using research based 4-H curriculum as defined.
Implement established 4-H Youth Development educational programing and projects.
Work to foster acceptance of the After-School program, methods, and policies while addressing community and individual needs and considering diverse audiences.
Assist the Association Issue Leader, 4-H, Youth and Family Program Leader in ensuring that program delivery is within scope of the statewide and Association Plan of Work.
Serve as a team member and cooperate with the entire Association and 4-H Youth Development team to achieve Association program delivery goals.
Direction - 5%
Assist Association Issue Leader, 4-H, Youth and Family Program Leader with limited-complexity administrative tasks to support the planning of the educational program.
Provide input to the Association Issue Leader, 4-H, Youth and Family Program Leader in planning the structure of delivering educational programs via various methods.
Assist Association Issue Leader, 4-H, Youth and Family Program Leader in proposing program budget modifications.
Provide limited complexity administrative assistance in marketing the After School Program.
Assist in identifying opportunities for After-School Program fund development activities.
Management - 5%
Provide low-complexity administrative tasks in guiding the implementation of communication strategies.
Manage the day-to-day operations of the 4-H Afterschool/Reach 21st Century Program
Oversight of the day-to-day activities of the Association Program Assistant II while on the school site.
Solve problems and resolve conflicts that arise is the After-School Program utilizing appropriate policies and procedures.
Identify and recommend program needs (i.e. program supplies and materials) to the Association Issue Leader, 4-H, Youth and Family Program Leader and the After-School Program Manager.
Coordination/Operation - 80%
Coordinate existing established educational after-school programs and 4-H enrichment activities in areas of healthy lifestyles, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), and civic engagement as needed.
Coordinate program implementation efforts, planning and activities.
Organize and coordinate activities related to After School Programming, including distribution of healthy snacks and meals.
Prepare and submit expense reports.
Provide administrative support for an Advisory Committee of parents, educators, community members and students to assist with program implementation and planning.
Coordinate identified administrative aspects of the After School Program to include, but not limited to, ordering and inventory of supplies (including end of year inventory), assist with marketing of After School Program and assist with brochure development and distribution.
Assist in utilizing effective marketing strategies in the promotion of programming efforts through various multi-media outlets to include, but not limited to, print media, news media and/or social media.
Work with school staff to increase program awareness and strengthen recruitment.
Assist the After-School Program Manager in the collection of program performance data (i.e. number of student enrollments, number of hours served, attendance, etc.) and input data into the Youth Services system in a timely manner for the completion and submission of reports.
Under guidance from Association Issue Leader, 4-H, Youth and Family Program Leader, contribute and communicate 4-H program news to include, but not limited to: articles of interest to program participants, parents and volunteers and general 4-H program information.
Facilitate programming aligned to established program goals that support students, families and responds to relevant community and school needs and preferences.
Effectively maintain existing professional relationships with other agencies, organizations and businesses that promote effective communication and facilitate continued programming efforts.
Establish clear channels of communication with teachers, administrators and staff to expand the connection between the school day and the after school program.
Collaborate with and assist the Association Issue Leader with processing the annual performance review providing feedback of performance.
Professional Improvement and Other Duties as Assigned - 5%
Adhere to guidelines set forth by New York State Network for Youth Success (NYSAN) and participate with program staff in scheduled Quality Self-Assessment discussions twice a year.
In cooperation with Supervisor and/or Executive Director, jointly develop and pursue a professional development plan as a means to increase competencies relative to position accountabilities and to address changes in programming and association priorities.
Collaborate in activities that are in general support of Cornell Cooperative Extension including but not limited to attendance at staff meetings, timely reporting of expenses, working with other staff, general marketing of Extension programs and other duties as assigned.

Maintain program facilities ensuring respectful treatment of school property and appropriate storage of equipment
