Position Summary: Applies advanced IT professional concepts and campus / medical center / OP objectives to resolve highly complex issues in one or more IT areas of specialization where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Recommends and may select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria to obtain results.
This position is expected to participate and provide expertise to the UCPath PeopleSoft Report design for the University of California Office of the President (UCOP) and campus wide systems and applications during the implementation of PeopleSoft HCM 9.2. UCPath is the University of California's priority program to implement a single payroll, benefits, human resources and academic personnel solution for all UC employees. The ITS UCPath Systems Group provides research, design, development, and support services for the production UCPath environments for infrastructure and applications. This position is in the UC PATH Systems Group within the Information Technology Services (ITS) department. The incumbent will work closely with business partners, UC Path Center, Project Team and others and collaborates with a team of technology professionals who deliver service and support to a system-wide audience.
The PeopleSoft Functional Data Analyst has prior experience defining report requirements and creating report design documents. This position is for a cross-module report analyst that includes Payroll for North America, Benefits Administration, Base Benefits, Workforce Administration, Absence Management and Commitment Accounting. Analyst uses advanced applications programming concepts and organization objectives to resolve highly complex issues. Regularly works on highly complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

Independently performs highly complex analysis of business and user needs, prepares documentation of requirements and translate business expectations into proper system and process requirement specifications. Provides advanced coordination of support and training on new data delivery processes or applications. Makes recommendations for process improvement or business needs related to data and analytics.
Job Requirements Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Minimum of 7 years proven experience in PeopleSoft HCM 9.x including extensive work experience on at least 2 large-scale system implementation project involving large numbers of users and multiple locations. Required
Knowledge/Skills: Advanced experience analyzing and designing solutions for PeopleSoft HCM applications: HR, Payroll, Benefits Administration, Commitment Accounting, Absence Management, Talent Management, and associated self-service applications, including deep experience and understanding of the PeopleSoft HCM data model.
Ability to act as project manager for all requirements gathering activities, managing highly complex requirements activities to ensure a successful outcome within the identified project constraints.
Demonstrated ability to understand business requirements, functional needs and how BI applications and systems can support those needs.
Advanced knowledge of business and process analysis functions.
Knowledge of the design, development and application of technology and systems to meet business needs.
Demonstrated ability to create and maintain functional design documentation and user acceptance testing plans.
Interpersonal skills sufficient to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
Ability to elicit and communicate technical and non-technical information in a clear and concise manner.

Advanced knowledge of computer security tools, best practices and policies including demonstrated experience securing server-based software.
Knowledge of test application code in client server environment.
Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of how system management actions affect other systems, system users and dependent / related functions.
Experience in data integration and the specification of data services.
Ability to understand and model complex systems.
Familiarity with data quality and governance issues and requirements.
Technical skill to develop, implement and test disaster recovery functions using backup technologies.
