Duties: Teach musicology courses at the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels with an emphasis on twentieth- and twenty-first-century art music; pursue a significant program of scholarly research and musicological publication, with interdisciplinary research according to the applicant's expertise, which may include international concert repertoires; teach additional courses in the musicology program; advise musicology students; other departmental needs as required. The appointee will be expected to: maintain a national and international profile as a scholar of music; demonstrate a strong commitment to excellent, innovative teaching at both graduate and undergraduate levels; expand the areas of interest represented in our department; and have the potential to work well with the variety of students in our diverse undergraduate and graduate programs within a large School of Music, Theatre, and Dance. The appointee will also be expected to serve on departmental, faculty, and University committees, and participate in faculty governance as appropriate.
Ph.D. in musicology in hand; evidence of scholarly promise; demonstrated potential as an innovative classroom teacher; commitment to nurturing a broad range of students of diverse identities and experiences, as demonstrated through pedagogy, service, and other activities.
Preferred:Specialization in any aspects of twentieth- and twenty-first-century art music. Applicants engaged in developing musicological approaches to identity, gender, sexuality, race, and disability are encouraged to apply.
