The Associate Dean for Programs is a senior administrator in the School of Education who works to support the school in accomplishing its mission, with particular emphasis on supporting programs and leading school-level accreditation. The Associate Dean for Programs will: lead school-level accreditation; oversee school-level reporting requirements at the university, state, and national levels; oversee the Office of Clinical Experiences, the Office of Student Services, and the Curriculum and Programs Committee; facilitate program development and approval efforts; facilitate continuous data-based improvement of programs, and work with the Dean in promoting overall well-being of the School of Education.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Terminal degree in program area represented in the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Education
Academic credentials equal to the awarded rank of full Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB)
Demonstrated experience with program development and accreditation
Demonstrated ability to implement federal and state regulations governing educator preparation programs
Demonstrated ability to design and implement assessment and continuous improvement systems
In depth knowledge of the standards of the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation
Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills
