The Management, Information Systems, and Quantitative Methods (MISQ) Department of the Collat School of Business at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks applicants for a Clinical Assistant or Clinical Associate Professor in Information Systems to begin Spring or Fall 2020. Rank will be commensurate with qualifications
The Information Systems (IS) group within the department has a variety of research interests, including: social media, information security and privacy, open innovation, online communities, entrepreneurship, and mobile devices. The IS group supports undergraduate and graduate programs in both online and face-to-face environments, including an online and face-to-face undergraduate degree program with concentrations in Cybersecurity Management, IT Management, and Business Analytics (pending final approval). The online graduate degree is currently ranked in the top 20 by US News & World Report and focuses on a managerial perspective to IT Systems.

Candidates must have an earned doctorate in Information Systems or a related field from an AACSB accredited business school and demonstrate an ability to maintain a dedication to quality in the classroom.
Applicants that have yet to earn their doctorate will be considered, but must have successfully defended their dissertation prior to beginning employment.
Applicants with technology work experience in the context of healthcare, financial services, entrepreneurship, and government/public administration are desirable with many opportunities to engage with local, state and student organizations. Teaching experience in technical subject areas such as programming, telecommunications, and database/data management is also desirable.
While research is not required for this position, collaborative opportunities to engage in research with faculty is encouraged.
