The Department of Surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking a dynamic, academically oriented, fellowship trained Surgical Oncologist, to lead the section of Surgical Oncology. The successful candidate will lead an active, collaborative clinical, teaching and research program consisting of 5 surgical oncologists. The Chief of Surgical Oncology will include oversight and management of the section finances, personnel, and faculty. The assignment of the Chief is an administrative post appointed by the Department Chair. The incumbent will serve on the Departmental Leadership Council which is the governing body of the Department of Surgery. The Chief serves in a leadership position in the O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at UAB. As such, you will also serve on the Executive Committee of O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at UAB.
