The Intermodal Association of North America (IANA) is searching for a Director of Human Resources to be the sole HR practitioner reporting directly to the President and CEO. The incumbent will provide the full suite of HR support services to an organization with a committed and dedicated staff of 25. Summary of Duties:
Benefits Administration – Manage employee benefits programs and services and monitor for competitiveness, effectiveness, and cost containment.
Employee Relations and HR Policies / Procedures – Support employee relations practices necessary to maintain IANA’s positive employer-employee relationships and continue to promote a high level of employee morale.
Compliance Monitoring – Keep management informed of legal requirements and government reporting regulations impacting the human resources functions including COBRA, OSHA, FLSA, EEO, ERISA, I-9 immigration compliance, unemployment benefits. Make recommendations and execute as directed to ensure compliance.
Recruitment, Hiring and Onboarding – Maintain standard recruiting practices and procedures, implementing and executing on an as needed basis.
Time Reporting and Payroll – Administer time reporting review and approval process and submit payroll-related changes to Accounting department per the payroll schedule.
Training and Development – Identify and manage in-house training programs that addresses company needs.
Planning – Conduct organizational effectiveness and strategic HR planning activities (job analysis, developing/revising position descriptions, succession planning, etc.)
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree a plus.
PHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP highly preferred.
At least seven years of human resource management experience required.
Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and Time Reporting systems.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
