This is a mid-level position to the equipment maintenance function of Facilities Management. Incumbent receives instructions verbally, from work orders, and from preventative maintenance instruction sheets.
Use the proper tool for the job. Arrive at the job with all tools and materials required to properly perform the task. Complete work in accordance to specific environment standards with minimal supervision. Diagnosis/troubleshoot equipment problems efficiently. Consistently and accurately inventory and maintain supplies. Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturersï¿½ specifications. Provide electrical-mechanical maintenance through the hospitalï¿½s Planned Maintenance Program. Effectively services machines, equipment and tools used in direct nursing care areas. Utilize proper lockout/tagout procedures. When working with hazardous waste or materials be knowledgeable or M.S.D.S. data. Be knowledgeable of any and all codes governing the project. Remove all debris and material from work area upon job completion. Use time management in organizing and prioritizing workload to provide optimal service to the department and the network. Level 2 ï¿½ Proficient (in addition to above duties) Evaluate and observe quality of work in assigned areas through visual inspection and follow up on any improvements. Participate in quality improvement measures within the department. Level 3 ï¿½ Subject Matter Expert (in addition to above duties) Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, safety, environmental, and infection control standards. Evaluate new supplies and cleaning equipment to facilitate the purchase of quality products and recommends items for acquisition.
Qualifications: Education Required: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D.), with course work in arithmetic, mechanics and electricity
Experience Required: Minimum of eighteen (18) months general maintenance experience required, preferably in a hospital setting
Other Required: Must be able to transport self to off-site locations as required. When using own vehicle must have valid Arizona driversï¿½ license and proof of insurance that meets the minimum standards of the state of Arizona. Must be able to work variable shifts, weekend and/or holidays as required.
