Alliance Medical Center (Alliance) is a 501c3 Federally Qualified Health Center with three clinic sites in northern Sonoma County, California. Alliance provides accessible, culturally appropriate, caring, and high-quality health care services to thousands of low-income families and individuals. Without Alliance as a safety net, their only access to health care would be the emergency room at the local hospital, a costly alternative for both the family and the community.
Founded in 1971 by community volunteers who saw a need for a clinic that would serve farmworkers and their families, Alliance is now a recognized leader in improving the health of the community at large, serving all ages from newborns to elders. Services include medical, dental, mental health and pharmacy services as well as WIC (Women, Infants and Children) services. Other specialized services include chiropractic, podiatry and diet and nutrition support.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The next CEO of Alliance will be a mission-driven health care executive with significant experience working in one or more Federally Qualified Health Centers. S/he will be a dynamic, externally-focused leader with the management experience and skill necessary to ensure the organization continues to strengthen its financial position, internal infrastructure and operations.
Reporting to a 15-member Board of Directors, the CEO will manage 6 direct reports and be accountable for an annual budget of $15M+ and a staff of over 100. S/he will function as the organization’s leader and highly collaborative member of the executive management team. Maintaining and expanding services as appropriate will be an integral responsibility of the CEO. The CEO will have the opportunity to forge new relationships and partnerships, and develop strategies to increase visibility in the community.

Healthcare Executive Experience
10+ years of progressively responsible experience, including leading a professional management team in a community-based, integrated primary health care setting, with significant experience within an FQHC required
Experience creating and achieving goals of a multi-year, multi-strategy plan
Proven ability to hire, retain and inspire talented staff members and build high-performing teams
Knowledge of nonprofit Board of Directors governance practices through nonprofit board service and/or reporting to a board
Proven ability to ensure high-quality, culturally relevant services in a multi-lingual, multi-cultural community setting
Management and Leadership Experience
Minimum of 6 years of senior experience supervising seasoned staff and operating multiple sites, including working closely with a board of directors
Views and utilizes board members as helpful partners
Outstanding communicator; excellent speaking writing, listening and interpersonal skills
Experience in fund development a strong plus
Financial and Operations Management
Fiscal accountability; proven track record of managing complex budgets of at least $10M
Proven ability to grow income and manage expenses for financial sustainability
Strong organizational skills and a business orientation that leverages and maximizes resources
