Assistant Professor of Computer Science (with emphasis in Cybersecurity) The Department of Mathematical Sciences at University of South Carolina Aiken (USC Aiken) invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in computer science with a focus on cybersecurity to begin August 16, 2020. USC Aiken maintains a close working relationship with Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL), and the university's new B.S. degree program in applied computer science with a concentration in cybersecurity is the result of collaboration with SRNL and other companies in the region. The faculty member in this position will take a key role in shaping the curriculum and will be expected to capitalize on the opportunity for collaborative work with SRNL. As such, the successful candidate may need to obtain government clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
Faculty normally teach 12 hours per semester. Salary commensurate with qualifications and teaching experience.

Requirements: (1) Ph.D. (by July 1, 2020) in computer science with knowledge and experience in cybersecurity; (2) potential for effective teaching at the undergraduate level using engaged learning strategies appropriate to the discipline and level; and (3) evidence of productive scholarship.
