Who we are looking for:
We are looking for a high performing Associate Director, Coverage and Reimbursement to join our Policy and Advocacy department. The selected candidate will provide specialized expertise to ASCO leadership, committees and staff on issues related to coverage and reimbursement for oncology services.
What you will do:
Provide staff expertise regarding policies related to coverage and reimbursement policies, including suggested strategy and outreach in support of ASCO’s advocacy efforts
Analyze and summarize legislative and regulatory proposals in a timely manner, and work with team members, other ASCO staff with relevant expertise, and outside counsel to draft comments
Serve as the policy liaison on regulatory issues related to coverage and reimbursement to relevant ASCO committees
Identify and pursue opportunities to raise ASCO’s visibility on positions related to coverage and reimbursement
Prepare substantive regulatory updates for membership communications and serve as resource for ASCO members on regulatory issues
Collaborate with team members and ASCO volunteers to develop educational material on coverage and reimbursement for ASCO membership as required
Participate in strategic planning including identifying emerging policy areas needed for ASCO action
Monitor, comment, and manage responses to relevant regulatory documents and activities and advise and communicate with ASCO Board of Directors, staff leadership, and volunteers about them
Represent ASCO on issues in coalitions and with federal agencies and on Capitol Hill, when needed
What you will need in order to be successful:
BA/BS degree in health policy, public health or a related field with a minimum seven years of experience in similar society work or government agency work; or graduate degree (i.e. JD, PharmD, MSW, MPH) with 4-5 years of related experience
Previous experience in coverage and reimbursement and HHS/CMS payment programs (physician, outpatient hospital)
Superior interpersonal and communication skills; including oral, written, and listening
Goal-oriented and self-managed with the ability to multi-task and manage own time, priorities, and resources
Commitment to high-quality work within a team to meet timelines and deliverables
Ability to travel 11-20 days/year
