Budget Title: Senior Staff Assistant (SL-3)
Harpur College seeks a professional to provide support to its academic degree programs. The Academic Program Specialist will perform a variety of functions to support Harpur College's academic programs, including the continual revision and development of new undergraduate programs. This involves coordinating the complex approval process, working with the regulatory process within SUNY and the New York State Education Department. The position also oversees other academic functions, such as coordinating the yearly editing of the University Bulletin. The Academic Program Specialist position requires a high level of interaction with campus constituents including department chairs and program directors, faculty, and the Provost's office.
The Academic Program Specialist must have excellent writing and editing skills, be capable of handling multiple assignments and prioritizing them in a constantly changing work environment. This position requires the ability to complete complex tasks with accuracy and to meet deadlines.
Work with Harpur Departments and the Provost's office to develop the regulatory and essential documents for compliance with SUNY and New York State Education Department requirements.
Work with Harpur Departments in developing new majors, minors, and revisions to their curriculum.
Coordinate the yearly editing of the Harpur College portion of the University Bulletin.
Excellent writing skills
The ability to work within the SUNY and State Education regulatory process
Two years of professional experience in higher education
