About the Opportunity: Under the direction of the Associate Director of Student Accounts, the Assistant Director for Student Accounts Operations supports all operational aspects of Student Accounts, including third party billing, fee assessment, accounts receivable entries and batch processing, processing of external loan and payment plan cash, and processing of tuition adjustments, exemptions and forfeited deposits. During peak processing times, the Assistant Director assists with email, phone and in-person customer service and processing student refund requests.
Responsibilities: The Assistant Director for Student Accounts Operations manages all aspects of third party billing, including creating and distributing third party billing statements, customer services for corporations, embassies, agencies, students, parents, and Northeastern staff via email, telephone and in-person conversations, reconciliation, delinquency monitoring and collection of third party accounts. The Assistant Director supervises and trains full and part-time operational staff.
The Assistant Director for Student Accounts Operations serves as part of the Student Accounts and overall Student Financial Services management team and shares responsibility for timely, accurate and respectful customer service for all constituencies. As part of the management team, the Assistant Director assists the Senior Director of Student Financial Services, Student Accounts and the Dean of Student Financial Services with special projects as requested.
Qualifications: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a Student Accounts/Bursar/Business Office required. Bachelor's degree required. Ability to work under pressure. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Ability to effectively communicate with various constituents ie. Faculty, staff, administrators, students, parents, company officials and government personnel. Knowledge of Microsoft Office. Experience with Banner. Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment. Excellent oral/written communications and analytical skills and effective prioritization skills. Creative thinking skills and solutions-oriented
