POSITION FUNCTION: Serve as Division head managing all areas of the general ledger. Manage accounting staff including advising staff on non-routine transactions, staff development (training new and existing staff), addressing personnel issues. Work with direct reports to establish annual goals and objectives. Monitor and advise on the progress to enhance professional development of staff.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO), or Certified Government Finance Officer (CGFO).
At least eight (8) years of experience in governmental accounting and/or auditing in Florida with at least five (5) years in a supervisory capacity.
Advanced skills with Microsoft Office, large accounting software systems, and databases.
Proven verbal and written communication skills.
Comprehensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Comprehensive knowledge of Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) – Statements and Guidance.
Valid driver license. Must obtain Florida driver license within thirty (30) days of employment.
