UMKC School of Dentistry, Department of Orthodonitcs and Dentofacial Orthopedics
The University of Missouri-Kansas City, School of Dentistry seeks a tenure-track or tenured faculty at the Associate/Professor level in the Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics for the position of Director of the Advanced Education Program in Orthodontics. The position is 100% benefit eligible, full time position for 5 days per week. There are opportunities for clinical practice for the qualified candidate. Rank and tenure status will be based on experience and credentials. Responsibilities of the position include the oversight of didactic and clinical training, research/scholarly activity, and service in the Advanced Education program
Specific responsibilities will concentrate on all aspects of the didactic and clinical training of orthodontic residents.
These will include, but are not limited to :
Responsibility for organizing, preparing and coordinating didactic curriculum, clinical curriculum and training, and seminars .
Documentation of program outcomes and resident progression
Responsibility for compliance with accreditation standards and reporting
Administrative oversight of program planning, scheduling and operations
Assurance of compliance with Federal, State, local regulations and university policies
Development and updating of policies for program operations
Ongoing quality assurance activities related to the program
Management of staff interacting with the program
Co ordination of activities in support of the mission of the Department and the School
Strategic approach to program planning and clinical management processes
Candidates should have a DMD/DDS degree, American Board certification in Orthodontics, and be eligible for licensure in Missouri.
For non-US DDS candidates with US training and board certification in orthodontics, an international faculty DDS program is available after an initial period of service.
Salary will commensurate with qualifications and experience.
