The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the area of applied and computational mathematics to start August 2020. The successful candidate is expected to establish a solid research program that includes seeking external funding and advising doctoral students, to provide effective teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level, and to provide service to the department and the university. We especially encourage applications from candidates who will contribute, through their research, teaching, and service, to the diversity and excellence of UMKC and the broader STEM community.

A Ph.D. in mathematics or a closely related field and successful teaching experience at college level.
We are interested in applicants who have an established record of research in the area of applied and computational mathematics, show potential to build interdisciplinary and industry connections through their research, and are qualified to teach graduate and undergraduate classes in the areas of differential equations, mathematical modeling, mathematical biology, numerical analysis or actuarial science. We are particularly interested in someone who can foster interdisciplinary efforts with existing applied mathematics and statistics research teams in our department and the university at large.
Full Time/Part Time
Full-time, tenure-track, benefit eligible, 9-month contract to begin September 2020.
Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
