Hiring Department School of Medicine - Department of Ophthalmology Job Description The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) School of Medicine, seeks outstanding candidates for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position. The successful candidate will conduct research in the field of neuroprotection / neural regeneration with other investigators in the UMKC Vision Research Center who are developing a comprehensive research program in mechanisms of pathogenesis of eye diseases, and strategies for therapeutic intervention with a strong focus on degenerative diseases affecting the back of the eye and the retina. While research experience in the Vision and Eye Research field is a plus, qualified candidates from related fields such as neuroscience and pharmacology that consider working in Vision Research are encouraged to apply. Scientists having experience with models of neural degeneration will be given preference.
