The Mayo Clinic Enterprise Center for Palliative Medicine is embarking on an exciting, expansion within its Midwest community practice and is looking for a board-certified/board-eligible palliative medicine physician at its growing practice in Mankato, MN.
The Center for Palliative Medicine serves as the independent governing department for Palliative Medicine at all sites at Mayo Clinic and has invested heavily in growing strong interdisciplinary teams with robust administrative support. The palliative care group in Mankato is seeking a physician to shape a diverse career in palliative care and hospice. This career will be paired with dedicated support for clinician’s sustainability and unmatched financial support for CME. The Center for Palliative Medicine believes strongly that to develop a sustainable career in this field, intentional support and time must be provided to supporting faculty at all stages of their career. The Center for Palliative Medicine is leading a comprehensive initiative to facilitate both local orientation and enterprise-wide faculty development approaches to support faculty in growing their careers. Building community, developing cross-sectional mentoring and supporting sustainable work life balance are all critical to this effort.
Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato is a 172 bed general hospital and a level two trauma center that serves as the major referral center for South-Central Minnesota. We have been part of Mayo Clinic for over twenty years. Our facility has been consistently ranked as one of the best hospitals in the state. The hospital remains consistently busy with over 10,800 admissions and 30,000 emergency department visits last year. Our Mankato hospital campus is a regional medical center that includes a specialty clinic practice, heart center and cancer center. In our SWMN region, we also partner with four critical access hospitals and a community medical center. During the past 12-18 months, we have invested more than $75 Million dollars into our Mankato campus and you will practice in state of the art environment, serving a diverse patient population with palliative care needs. The Palliative Care program is supported with dedicated nurses, nurse practitioners, social work and chaplaincy. This position will also support Mayo Clinic Hospice Mankato, a large home hospice program providing unparalleled care for patients with complex illness in home and general inpatient hospice environments.
Candidates must be board certified or eligible and fellowship trained in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Interest in Hospice preferred. Must currently possess or obtain DEA upon hire, and must have a current license to practice in the State of Minnesota or obtain upon hire.
