This position serves as a Sr. Clinical Research Coordinator in the Burn Surgery Division of the Department of Surgery in the UC Davis School of Medicine in collaboration with pediatric burn research efforts at Shriners Hospitals for Children. This position reports to the Supervisor and requires frequent interaction with the various research-related functional offices and programs such as the IRB, Health Informatics, Sponsored Programs, Health System Compliance, and Health System Contracts.
The Sr. Clinical Research Coordinator position will coordinate several clinical research projects in the Burn Surgery division. Position requires advance-level knowledge and skills, as evidenced by certification in the field. Incumbent independently coordinates and is accountable for the overall administration and outcome of multiple clinical studies. Coordination is varied and may include FDA regulated drug or device studies, including Phase I, II, III and IV clinical trials, investigator-initiated protocols, and government funded research including DoD funded multicenter clinical trials managed by UCD. Duties include: 1) coordinate clinical research subjects to maintain adherence with study timelines and protocols, 2) facilitate participants' participation including recruitment and screening, and 3) collect, enter and submit study data as well as addressing all data queries efficiently and accurately. This includes study start up and close out procedures, assistance with financial aspects of clinical trials, FDA documents, HIPAA compliance, source documents and CRFs, scheduling of study visits, laboratory specimen processing and shipping, and facilitating monitoring visits, etc. This individual will also be responsible for IRB preparation and submission, REDCap database development and management, interfacing with diverse populations and across varied disciplines and health professionals while also maintaining patient confidentiality and following good clinical practice Responsibilities include participation in the Burn Data Coordinating Center where multicenter trials are centrally managed and data is submitted from multiple burn centers across the US and Canada. .This position is grant funded.
