The Price School is seeking an experienced individual to assist the Online Graduate Program in Public Administration (MPA).Â The Student Services Advisor I counsels and/or provides graduate students with a range of services covering one or more key areas such admissions, financial aid, academic counseling and advisement, graduation counseling and clearance, records and registration, placement and career services and student programs.Â Coordinates delivery of services with appropriate University offices.Â Coordinates services of online partnerships providing a range of student supports and advisement services. Coordinates the delivery of campus Residencies for students and faculty.Â Provides support for faculty in Residencies, travel, course delivery, and in multiple technology venues and platforms upon request of faculty coordinator and Department Chair.Â Provides coordination of cohort coaches and student advisement with online partners, coaching lead instructor and program director, as well as support for faculty meetings, the Capstone program and student surveys, alumni outreach and other development efforts within the online program.Â Position is affiliated with a major academic program, academic department, school or college.Â This is a specialist position which may perform highly specialized activities for which a graduate degree is a minimum requirement, e.g. academic counseling and programming and curriculum development support.
Sets priorities and timelines and monitors delivery of student services.Â Assists in resolving non-routine problems and provides policy or procedural interpretations for matters which are not clearly defined.
Assists in planning and execution of campus Residencies, onboarding course delivery on campus and student and alumni contact strategies and programs for a major academic program, department, school or college.Â Represents same at university events.Â Coordinates student activities, alumni engagement, faculty meetings, on campus Residencies and events for online graduate students in public administration.
Assists and supports non-Resident faculty participating in campus events, Residencies, faculty meetings and more.Â Supports Department Chair and faculty coordinator of the online MPA in preparing and evaluating job postings for cohort coaches, adjunct faculty and travel as requested.Â
Coordinates with university and school admissions office.Â Researches demographics, coordinates faculty and alumni participation in marketing and admission webinars for prospective and incoming graduate students.Â Coordinates other outreach programs and events, school visits, receptions and other programming for campus and online events.Â Research as needed to support online marketing, alumni support of admissions, and more.
Coordinates with online MPA program faculty coordinator to provide support for online course development, Capstone delivery and client communications as needed for the graduate program in public administration.
Counsels or advises prospective students on admissions, financial aid, housing and academic requirements.Â Provides coordination upon request of online partnership admissions activities with program admissions to support program faculty coordinator and Department Chair.
Provides academic counseling for online graduate students living in diverse geographic and time zone locations.Â Advises on matters of curriculum, course and degree requirements, degree progress and academic standing, etc.Â Monitors student progress and probation programs including audits of student records and preparation of notices in support of the program faculty direction and department chair.
Maintains academic unit student records and coordinates registration activities in conjunction with university, school, program and partners of the online graduate program, grading, degree progress, enrollment and degree verification and transcripts with the USC Office of Academic Records and Registrar.Â Assists with petition applications, resumes and letters of recommendation.
Evaluates student problems, academic, administrative or personal, and refers students to appropriate services office for additional counseling.
Counsels students and parents on matters concerning financial aid packages. Evaluates student situations and requests regarding financial aid awards and takes appropriate action.Â Identifies and recommends scholarship recipients based on eligibility requirements.Â Monitors local financial aid budget and scholarship awards.
Evaluates student problems with the online partnership, course advisement, course delivery and coach or faculty communications and reports to program faculty coordinator to coordinate resolution with Department Chair or Deanâs office.Â Communicates with students once decisions can be made to address, inform or resolve student concerns in the online platform and program.
Maintains student handbook for online graduate program in public administration and supports Department Chair in maintaining faculty handbook for adjunct, section instructor, full time faculty and course leads.Â Â Maintains cohort coaching policies, procedures and guidelines for online graduate students and adjunct faculty (coaches).
