UMKC Parking Operations is seeking a Parking Services Officer. This position will perform routine duties for campus parking lot operations.
Issue citations for parking violations, such as expired meters, illegal parking, etc.
Collect and prepare for deposit coins collected for parking meters.
May record amounts collected from each parking lot or other routine information regarding coin collection.
Collect and report data on parking lot usage (peak times, space counts, etc.) and general maintenance problems and lot hazards that need attention.
Provide directional and parking-related information to faculty, staff, students, and visitors to campus.
May train and provide functional supervision over student employees.May staff parking facilities and collect fees and validated parking stubs.Assist in the field, as needed, for parking for special events.
The position is responsible for enforcing UMKC campus parking regulations.
The position will assist with the following:
ensure the pay and display and single space meters are emptied and running correctly;
special event parking;
booting and towing of vehicles on campus;
repair and placement of parking signage; minor striping/stencil.
Customer service assisting faculty, staff, students and visitors in regard to campus parking. Other duties as assigned.
A High School diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary.
Requires physical stamina to walk long distances, push/pull and lift/tilt meter collection cans, and lift heavy items (50-70 pounds) on a daily basis.
Employee will be subjected to seasonal weather conditions year round.
Prior experience in parking lot operations is preferred.
One to two years in field of parking enforcement.
Self-reliant and able to work independently.
Full Time/Part Time
Full time position.
$10.43 to $13.60, commensurate with education and experience.
The shift will be 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday
9 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Friday
Several weekends per year
