Reports to: Present - VP of Human Resources (Future - VP of Finance and Accounting)
The Manager of Human Resources directs, organizes and plans the human resources functions to include compensation, benefits, employee relations, recruitment and retention, organizational development and planning, employee recognition and activities, and training.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinates the Cooperative's compensation plans for employees, personnel policies, position descriptions, employee relations activities and other personnel-related responsibilities.
Develops and maintains procedures for the recruitment and selection of personnel and provide assistance for supervisors and department heads in the employment process.
Designs, implements and coordinates the Cooperative's equal opportunity programs to avert any discriminatory personnel practices and policies and comply with applicable laws.
Monitors and ensures that personnel policies of the Cooperative comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws, and provide fair treatment for all employees.
Assists the Vice-President of Finance and Accounting with activities relating to the Board of Directors, Board Committees, and associated responsibilities.
Coordinates the Cooperative's training and employee information programs. Coordinates and implements health and safety programs and policies, ensures compliance with OSHA regulations and standards, detects and eliminates work hazards, and fosters a work environment in which employees can work safely and productively.
Coordinates the Cooperative’s medical, dental, vision, retirement, and group benefit insurance plans.
Associated Degree in human resource management with additional academic courses in business administration, personnel administration, accounting, and working knowledge of office programs or equivalent academic training required. Bachelor's Degree in business administration, personnel administration, accounting, or closely related field preferred. Must obtain SMHR-CP certification within a reasonable period of time which will be established by prior education and human resource experience.
Must be able to organize, plan, direct, and motivate assigned personnel. Must be able to develop plans, programs, budgets, procedures, and reports in assigned areas of responsibility and identify and achieve measurable performance criteria.
Must be able to complete all assignments with attention to detail and accuracy. Must maintain FULL CONFIDENTIALITY of all Corporate and personnel/employment information. Must be able to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
Must be familiar with state and federal labor laws, insurance coverages, claim procedures, Credit Union policies/procedures and job related government forms and reports.
Must maintain thorough working knowledge of Cooperative Bylaws, policies and procedures.
Must be willing to develop an interest in and be sympathetic with the ideals and objective of the Cooperative. Must have the skills to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the Chief Executive Officer, Vice President of Finance and Accounting, Board of Directors, public, members, employees, businesses, etc.
Must have the ability to communicate clearly and accurately with a variety of people and with ALL Pee Dee Electric personnel to furnish accurate and completed information in a courteous, timely and helpful manner. Must convey professional interaction at all times, thereby maintaining positive relations. Must Display and encourage team effort for maximum efficiency and productivity.
Must hold a valid driver’s license at the level necessary to operate vehicles in the performance of position responsibilities.
Must be able to attend periodic seminars, training programs, conferences, civic and professional events.
Must be able to perform all activities listed in the job description.
Frequently operates standard office machines to include computer, copy machine, and fax. Normal activities require extensive amounts of sitting and work environment is 100% indoor in normal office conditions.

Additional Salary Information: Exempt position with standard working hours of 8 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Position offers a competitive salary and full benefits package.
