Provides individual, group, and crisis counseling for students, faculty, and staff
Develops and delivers educational programs on self-management and mental health
Consults with campus personnel, students' family members, UCARE team, and other stakeholders
Contributes to gathering data, compiling information, and preparing reports
Collaborates with colleagues on campus committees and initiatives
Assumes other responsibilities assigned by the CS Director
A Bachelor's degree in related/ relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Master's degree in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, or closely related field and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Licensed or eligible for licensure in Missouri (will consider individuals who have completed educational requirement but require supervision to obtain licensure)
Two years' experience providing mental health services
Professional experience in a university/college counseling center setting working with young adults and a diverse population
Possesses highly developed skills to resolve complex and challenging clinical situations
Track record of consistently sound professional decision-making
Ability to communicate effectively and create trusting, supportive relationships
Comfortable in the use of computer technology (Titanium software, email, web pages, Power Point, web-based surveys) to enhance services and outreach to students and campus
Possesses knowledge of best practices and desire to learn and incorporate new service methods
Possesses professional liability insurance
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of state and federal health care privacy laws, Title IX, VAWA, ADA, Title II, HIPAA, FERPA, and professional ethics
