This position requires extensive and comprehensive knowledge of all immigration issues for F-1 students attending programs in Continuing Education and Summer Session. The International Student Advising Manager supervises two international student advisors/DSOs in the international student advising division of Student Services. The international student advising division is responsible for issuing initial, change of status, and transfer in I-20s, maintaining a complex database for appropriate government reporting, and counseling students on F-1 student related matters such as optional practical training, change of educational level, change of status, maintaining F-1 status, work authorization, and reinstatement. The International Student Advising Manger is responsible for training staff and providing leadership and guidance to staff, students, administrators, and instructors on complex immigration issues. Further, the Manager for International Student Advising must have extensive and expert knowledge of SEVIS and all federal regulations related to F-1 students. The incumbent must have demonstrated experience working with complex relational databases. The incumbent responds to student, parent, institutional partner, and agent questions related to immigration matters as they pertain to Continuing Education and Summer Session programs.
