SKC is seeking an exceptional communicator with both broad and deep technical and scientific knowledge to serve our customers as the Corporate Industrial Hygienist. This role works cross functionally with the domestic and international sales, marketing, and product teams. Additionally, this individual will lead SKC's technical service team which is based out of our global headquarters in the greater Pittsburgh, PA area. This role requires a moderate amount (25-50%) of travel, including international.
A high-level overview of duties includes, but is not limited to:
Ability to speak with authority on topics related to products and services. Provide technical and scientific expertise related to sample media, methods, instrument operation, product selection and use and other internal and external inquiries.
Serves as the in-house expert on Industrial Hygiene applications such as air sampling pumps and sample media, noise dosimeters, gas detectors and dust monitors. Provides information on operation, software and troubleshooting. Collaborates with other departments to investigate customization to products to meet customer’s needs.
Provides internal and external training and expertise through a variety of mediums both written and oral such as in-person trainings, webinars, podcasts, PowerPoints, blog posts, whitepapers, and articles for publication.
Acts as SKC ambassador through meeting with, training and supporting key customers, distributors (including international) and government agencies to provide product demonstrations and technical discussions.
Assists in the development of technical services business (repairs, rentals, calibration) by identifying potential customers, initiating contact, and attending site visits in conjunction with the sales and product development departments to further expand market share.
Develop a well-trained team of in-house technical experts that can respond to customer inquiries with a sense of urgency and authority and can provide training and services both in-person and remotely that meet customers’ needs.

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene or closely related field (Environmental Health, Occupational Safety and Health, Safety Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Toxicology) required; Master's degree preferred.
Current Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) credential through the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH) required.
Previous technical service management experience strongly preferred.
Fluency in Spanish preferred.
