This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, create and maintain the CCCS Cyber Security policy, incident response plan and participation in strategic planning for security-related issues. This position leads incident response activities for significant IT security incidents, directs vulnerability scanning activities for CCCS and associated colleges and creates/maintains policies related to IT Security. Provides customer support and expertise to properly maintain Information Technology systems security operations, monitoring application/system software and hardware operations, routine/high priority system problem identification, and high priority corrective action. Provides continuous liaison with users to identify unique and/or common difficulties and prepare plans for their resolution. Performs and oversees systems and network security administration responsibilities. Ensures compliance with electronic and physical security procedures and standards.
Monitor the dynamic landscape of state, federal and international laws and regulations relevant to the security and privacy of information stored and processed at CCCS and decides when and how to update security policies and security controls to maintain compliance.
Provide notifications of any security violations, attempts to gain unauthorized access to information, virus infections or other IT Security breaches that may affect users, network, or systems, decides the appropriate response, including the potential isolation of affected systems, assists with investigation and incident report creation.
Work with Senior Leadership and Risk Management group to identify the most significant IT Security risks to the System and to decide upon the best mitigation strategies.
Guide to CCCS leadership and IT governance bodies on emerging threats and the evolving landscape of protective technologies.
Enforce the information security configurations across systems and monitor the user access process to ensure operational integrity of the system.
Implement standards as defined by technical and business teams as applicable to the ERP and other systems.
Work with technical project teams (or other project teams as required) to determine needs, set priorities, create plans and determine schedules for system implementation.
Supervise a Network Security Analyst.
Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field (Relevant education and experience in the appropriate technical and management areas may be considered as a substitute for formal education.)
CISSP Certification or a minimum of three years of network security management experience, preferably in an Enterprise IT Security leadership role.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of management practices and principles relating to computer and telecommunications security and the threats facing information systems.
Complete understanding of PCI DSS Compliance (certification preferred)
Experience in using public key infrastructure, firewalls, encryption techniques, virus detection and intrusion detection systems to secure enterprise information systems.
Experience in developing system security plans, performing risk analyses, conducting security test and evaluations, and developing and testing contingency plans.
Ability to work effectively in a team management environment and participate in collaborative initiatives, which foster the mutual exchange of knowledge and expertise.
Familiarity with state, national and international laws and regulations (such as HIPAA, FERPA, GDPR, PCI, FISMA/CUI, and SOX).
Familiarity with different standards and ability to practically apply them to improve security posture (such as NIST 800, SAS70, ISO 27002).
Experience that demonstrates incumbent proficiency in the system design, installation, testing, troubleshooting, and securing of Linux, Windows, and Oracle software on a range of hardware platforms in a broad scale environment.
Experience with current industry technologies could include, but are not limited to: Solid working knowledge with at least 5 years’ experience securing LANs, WANs, wireless systems, Unified Communications, DNS, DHCP, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Devices, Secured FTP, etc.
Experience supporting 24x7 environments.
Experience with current Cisco security solutions.
Work Location/Travel Expectations
This position is located at CCCS/IT 1059 Alton Way, Denver, CO 80230.
Occasional in-state travel and out-of-state travel, along with conference attendance, is required.
