Senior Multi-Media Designer, National Robotics Engineering Center (NREC)-2014304
What we are looking for:
A motivated, self-starter to be a member of our dynamic team as a Senior Multimedia Designer. You will cover a range of activities in multi-media and marketing that will help NREC expand its presence in commercial and government sectors, and help Carnegie Mellon Robotics Academy (CMRA) further its mission of educating students about STEM and Computer Science through Robotics - including digital games and project-based curriculum!
Duties include creative direction of multiple forms of media and marketing materials, and hands-on production with video, web, photography, image editing, graphics design, print media, digital game assets, and social media.

The Robotics Academy team is encouraging, active, and committed to positive change through our work. We use human-centered design, continuous improvement, and agile software development methods to ensure that we produce useful, usable, and valuable learning tools that work in the real world.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Generating graphics material for posters, flyers, banners, and other printed material, or proposals
Generating videos and photos for our websites, social media and our various monitors in our facilities (including the lobby)
Filming video productions and process the footage until a final product is delivered. This includes marketing videos, project-specific videos, and curriculum videos.
Updating content on our website (e.g. posting news stories that NREC leadership generates, updating videos/graphics, etc.) and on social media
Generating ideas on how to improve NREC and CMRA's image and branding
Solving installed A/V issues/problems. Making assignments for repairing equipment. Deciding if repairs or replacement parts are necessary.
Designing other marketing material such as t-shirts, coffee mugs, etc. and leading these mini-projects from start to finish.
Developing 2D, 3D, and GUI assets for digital games and virtual simulations.
Other duties as assigned
Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree
5-8 yrs of Audio Visual Equipment Operation Experience
5-8 yrs of Multi-Media Production Experience
Proficient with a prevalent multimedia software suite such as Adobe Creative Suite 6 or Creative Cloud.
Demonstrate marketing abilities to help promote the NREC and CMRA brand.
Experience with photographic and video equipment and the skills and experience for taking high-quality photos and videos
Able to lead, organize and bring to fruition multimedia projects from start to finish.
Note: The position may require taking photos and/or videos during special events at NREC/CMRA (e.g. group visits, program reviews, VIP visitors) or during field tests for specific projects. These events may happen during evenings, weekends or require travel.
