Employee Communications Specialist, Southeast Communications Hub (1903718) - Geismar, LA
Where the Chemistry Happens
Under the general direction of the Southeast Communications Hub Manager, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating employee communications programs, channeling and messaging at the Geismar site and leveraging best practices to the other sites in the Southeast Communications Hub. You will also serve as communications counselor to strategic leadership team members and safety teams.

Formula for Success
Leveraging your bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Political Science or a related field (accreditation in Public Relations (APR) strongly preferred) and your communications-related and public relations experience (preferably in a corporate environment), you will s upport the ongoing implementation of an employee communications plan with the central goals of increasing collaboration and engagement across employees in all areas of the sites. This includes manufacturing and functional employees who reside at the sites.
Under the direction of Southeast Communications Hub Manager, you will work closely with BASF's Corporate Communications team to develop and implement employee communications programs, ensure effectiveness of communications tools, and cascade information to sites' employees.
Your excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills will serve you well as you counsel and support strategic leadership team members with site communications efforts and activities.
Utilizing your strong team/collaboration and organizational skills, you will foster, encourage and recognize volunteerism with employees across the sites. You will also support the site's ongoing community relations program that strengthens the BASF's position as a respected corporate citizen.
Your demonstrated ability to deliver concise writing and message development for an internal audience and familiarity with social media will be strong assets as you u tilize an integrated communications approach with both internal and external communications, factoring in social media, public relations, advertising and other disciplines.
Your keen attention to detail and ability to multi-task will be essential as you support the site emergency response plans for Communications as directed, working in close collaboration with BASF Corporate Communications. You will also serve as a secondary site spokesperson during time of incident or crisis if needed.
Demonstrating your proficiency in Microsoft Office, you will support the updating of the site's crisis communications plans to ensure the plans remain robust, up-to-date and exercised on a regular basis with alignment with the Corporate Communications team.
