Pay Rate: $1,952.68/month ($22.99/hr)
Benefits: PAY RATE CHANGE: In January 2020, the Classified Salary Schedule will be increased by approximately two percent to $1,991.72/mth ($23.45/hr).
BENEFITS: This position is eligible for prorated sick and vacation time based on the 49% assignment.

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the leadership of the Coordinator of School Relations, this position is responsible for maintaining relationships with local schools and recruiting students to attend the college.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Implements an extensive recruitment program for local K-12 school students. - Participates in a variety of activities with and visitations to local schools, including meetings with school and college staff, parents and students. - Interacts with liaisons from local school districts. - Operates from a coordinated school outreach calendar. - Enters and utilizes data in an electronic student database and tracking system. - Provides campus tours. - Assists with special events both at the local schools and on campus. - Assists with follow-up efforts with potential students. - Represents the college in the community and at local schools. - Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: - Requires working knowledge of outreach and recruitment principles, methods and activities appropriate for K-12 schools. - Requires skills necessary for participating in a variety of activities and visits to local schools. - Requires well-developed human relations, written, and oral communication skills to contribute to effective liaisons with local school district employees and college staff. - Requires well-developed human relations skill to interact with principals, teachers, counselors, parents and prospective students. - Requires a working knowledge of computer database and tracking system software. - Requires well-developed language skills to make accurate presentations to individual students and groups.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Two years of student recruitment experience in a college or university environment. - Experience implementing an extensive recruitment program for local K-12 school students. - Sensitivity to, understanding of, and respect for the diverse academic, socioeconomic, ethnic, religious, cultural background, disability, and sexual orientation of community college students, faculty, and staff. - Experience using Microsoft Office and Banner, or similar ERP system.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: - A high school diploma, or the equivalent, and four years of student recruitment experience.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES: - Requires ambulatory ability to sit for extended periods of time and stand and walk for intermittent periods of time. - Requires the ability to lift and carry lightweight materials (under 20 pounds) on an occasional basis. - Requires hand-arm-eye coordination to operate a personal computer keyboard. - Requires visual acuity to arrange materials, observe movements of people, and read letters and numbers. - Requires auditory ability to carry on conversations in person and over the phone. - Requires ability to drive.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES: - Requires a valid driver's license.
About Citrus College: Celebrating over 100 years of service, Citrus College is located in Glendora in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains, approximately twenty-five miles northeast of metropolitan Los Angeles. The college has the distinction of being the oldest community college in Los Angeles County and the fifth oldest in the state.
Citrus College was founded in 1915 under the leadership of Dr. Floyd S. Hayden, who helped bring the community college movement to California. From 1915 to 1961, the college was operated by the Citrus Union High School District. In July 1961, the Citrus Community College District was created to include the Azusa and Glendora unified school districts. In 1967, the district expanded to include the Claremont, Duarte and Monrovia school districts.
Today, Citrus College occupies a 104-acre campus. The college is currently experiencing a major facilities expansion project that will change the look of the campus. The college enrolled 27 students in 1915 and currently the college serves more than 19,000 students annually. Classes are offered on a 16-week calendar (fall and spring semesters), as well as in a variety of non-traditional scheduling options -- winter intersession, evenings, summer sessions, and optional class formats, such as online education courses.
