Qualifications: Outstanding candidates are invited to apply for a clinical faculty position in Nutrition Sciences. Candidates for the clinical position must have earned a Master’s degree or higher in Nutrition or a related field; must be a Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist; and must have strong teaching skills in nutrition, food service management and food science. Supervision of undergraduate students, collaborations with nutrition and health-related agencies, and active participation in organizations for food/nutrition professionals are essential for performing clinical and Didactic program supervision. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to articulate the intersections of faith and learning, and work collaboratively, with strong communication and interpersonal skills, with colleagues and students. The following are desirable qualifications for the job: Ph.D. in Nutrition or closely related field; evidence of successful teaching experience in higher education; proficiency with food preparation equipment and food sensory testing; and professional experience in the nutrition industry or healthcare industry.
Responsibilities: Responsibilities of the individual who holds this position will include teaching undergraduate courses in subjects such as food service management, food production, food science, and basic and/or advanced nutrition. These courses support the undergraduate degree in Nutrition Sciences. Mentoring of students in professional development will be expected, in addition to participation in relevant professional activities, and provision of service to the university, community and profession. This individual will serve as the Didactic Program Director, ensuring that education experiences offered in the nutrition science degree plan transfer knowledge, skills and competencies required by our students for entry into a dietetic internship and maintain our accreditation by the Accreditation Counsel for Education and Nutrition and Dietetics.
