The Associate Director of IT Operations in ORIS is a key leader in the support of UW’s goals of maintaining the role of the nation’s highest-funded public research university and one of the top research institutions in the world. The ever growing complexity and regulation of the grants management lifecycle has resulted in an increased need to develop electronic research systems that help streamline the grants management processes. Vendor supported and custom developed software that improves the researcher’s experience in attaining and maintaining grants will have a direct impact on the University of Washington’s ability to remain competitive in retaining top researchers and the research funding they bring in. The culmination of the products ORIS delivers and supports will be an integrated one-stop-shop for research administration and compliance, resulting in the most effective and efficient grants management process in the country.
