Summary: Performs training, competency assessment, and regulatory oversight for Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) waived and moderate-complexity testing. This position supports system activity.

Responsibilities: Acts as a technical consultant by demonstrating technical and professional ability to oversee waived and moderately-complex testing procedures as defined by CLIA.
Maintains CLIA licensure and inspection readiness for each laboratory location.
Provides education, training, and competency assessment, as needed, at each laboratory location. Trains staff and performs competency assessment for CLIA waived and moderate-complexity testing as governed by regulation.
Assists with instrument and testing issues at each laboratory location. Recognizes testing issues and find solutions. Writes testing procedures. Assists with instrument troubleshooting and maintenance.
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Credentials: Essential: * Medical Technologist * Medical Laboratory Scientist
Other information: Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's degree in a Physical Science. Required Licensure/Certification: Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) ASCP or Medical Technologist (MT) AMT. Minimum Experience: 2 years' relevant experience.
