THIS IS NOT AN H1- B OPPORTUNITYResponsibilitiesThis critical position provides administrative support to personnel, labor relations, and HR support for the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Medicine in the School of Medicine. The Academic Human Resources Analyst II requires extensive analytical skills to keep up with the ever-changing personnel and employment policies and acts both independently and in collaboration with the CAO regarding standard practices, and is expected to provide final drafts of communications for signatures by the department manager and chair. Additioanlly, the Academic Human Resources Analyst II works in multiple personnel/payroll systems; UC Health, UC Davis, and UCOP policies, each with unique requirements and is responsible for the full spectrum of HR/Personnel including but not limited to; academic personnel actions, policies, and procedures related to recruitments, appointments, merits/promotions, and visas. Required Qualifications
Knowledge of and ability to apply/interpret organizational and university policies and procedures which govern Academic HR.
Knowledge of organizational, university and departmental formal and informal policies and procedures.
Experience coordinating recruitments and on-boarding practices for new employees.
Advanced proficiency with web-based integrated systems (such as recruitment systems), spreadsheets, word processing, email, databases, and presentation software applications.
Knowledge of the relative roles of faculty, staff, and administrators; the protocols for communications and interactions between these parties in the university environment to determine priority of a variety of tasks, available resources and services, and applicable human resource policy and procedures.
Demonstrated organization, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Extensive organizational, analysis, and decision-making skills to continually prioritize between long and short-term needs, be able to tolerate rapid shifts in direction with competing demands and constant requests for priority changes from a variety of sources while keeping track of on-going tasks and meeting multiple deadlines.
Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with little direction
Experience using Kuali, OPTRS, PPS, Ecotime, AggieTravel, Pre-Purchasing, and AggieBuy preferred.
