THIS IS NOT AN H1- B OPPORTUNITY ResponsibilitiesUnder the direction and leadership of the Health System Controller, the Financial Systems Manager is responsible to support users of finance systems by providing specialized knowledge of business applications and processes. This position primarily acts a liaison between UCD Health Finance, Campus and UCD Health Information Technology and the multiple financial systems' stakeholders and users, and functions as a manager for various finance systems and subsystem implementations and improvements. The Financial Systems Manager provides finance and technical support and integration assistance for the UCD Health Finance systems and integration with other UCD Health software systems. Works with cross functional teams and subject matter experts to plan and manage the design, testing and implementation of the financial systems and subsystems, such as general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, capital finance, banking and government reimbursement. Required Qualifications

  • Ten to 15 years accounting experience desired, preferably in a public accounting, healthcare or a higher education organization
  • Experience with financial systems, including general ledgers, and budgetary systems.
  • Experience in system implementations, data management and business process design and improvements
  • Proven experience with advanced knowledge of accounting and financial management principles, theory and practice including knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles in Governmental Accounting Standards (GASB) environment.
  • Excellent technical skills with Excel, ERP systems (preferably Infor-Lawson), and SQL scripting
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills with the ability to resolve conflicting priorities
  • Demonstrated professional level of analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proven ability to develop detailed financial and statistical reports out of ERP systems and develop accurate reports on large volumes of data from multiple systems.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with customers around the organization, exhibiting assertiveness, a realistic perspective, objectivity, courtesy, tact, diplomacy and awareness of how own actions affect others.
  • Ability to work effectively in a complex environment with changing and conflicting priorities under tight deadlines and requirements for accuracy.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, adapt to changing priorities and produce quality work while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively, both individually and on teams and with employees at all levels of the organization and with a diverse population of stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership skills in working with teams comprised of a variety of diverse individuals
