Clinical Faculty Nurse-Midwife (Instructor/Assistant Professor)

SON faculty members who have advanced practice specialization (nurse practitioner, nurse-midwife, clinical nurse specialist or nurse anesthetist) may function in all of the missions of the School. Clinical teaching of nurse-midwifery students is an expectation. Clinical teaching of other OHSU advanced practice students may be required. The faculty member must be nationally certified by the AMCB and state licensed. The faculty member must be credentialed and privileged as a member of Tuality Healthcare and the OHSU Professional Staff, in accordance with the specialty bylaws. The faculty member will provide clinical services at Tuality Healthcare, an OHSU Partner community hospital as determined by the Director of Nurse-Midwifery in furtherance of the universitys missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service. Faculty members in the clinical series are also expected to participate in service appropriate to rank. The advanced practice faculty member is expected to comply with scope of practice, other laws, regulations, OHSU and SON policy, and other applicable professional standards of practice. This posting will be used to fill four (4) Certified Nurse Midwifevacancies. 1. Clinical Activities: Practice that emanates from the School of Nursing is expected to support the teaching, practice and research missions of the School. In the practice environment, teaching occurs concurrently with clinical activities. Education: Masters degree in nursing required; doctorate strongly preferred. Registrations, Certifications and/or Licenses: AMCB or ACC certification as a nurse-midwife required. Oregon RN license, nurse-midwifery license and current CPR and NRP card required. Experience: Three years of clinical practice experience required; teaching or precepting experience at the baccalaureate level or higher preferred. Overview: Apply Online.
