![]() International Scholar Advisor Stanford University Business Title: International Scholar Advisor Department: Bechtel International Center Division/School: Vice Provost for Student Affairs Job Title: Student Services Officer 2 Job Code: 7502 Grade: H Stanford University, recognized as one of the most prestigious and innovative academic institutions in the world, has an immediate opening for an International Scholar Advisor at the Bechtel International Center, a department within Student and Academic Services (SAS). Bechtel International Center supports the immigration component of the University's mission of teaching and research. As an International Scholar Advisor, you will play a lead role in advising University Departments about all aspects of hiring international scholars, and helping the University maintain compliance with federal immigration regulations. You will work closely with the University's administrative and professional staff to determine eligibility of prospective international employees, and are responsible for department outreach and training. You will serve as the point person to liaise with government agencies such as the Departments of Labor, Homeland Security, Department of State, and the Citizenship and Immigration Services in all matters pertaining to the hiring of H1-B, TN, E-3 and O-1 employees and helping maintain University compliance with immigration regulations. As the point of contact for Stanford departments and units submitting electronic requests for nonimmigrant visa sponsorship, you will apply your knowledge of federal government regulations and procedures to prepare the relevant forms, advise employing units about issues affecting the employment of nonimmigrants in the various classifications, and file petitions. Your key responsibilities: Management of the H-1, TN, E-3, and O-1 programs as they are administered at Stanford.
