THIS IS NOT AN H1- B OPPORTUNITY ResponsibilitiesProvides direct management to skilled technical Patient Estimate Analysts. This position will oversee all aspects of the pre-service estimating of patient financial liability. Functions as advisor to unit and administration, analyzes and resolves problems, interprets policies and demonstrates extensive subject matter knowledge. Works with a high level of autonomy making significant financial decisions. Serves as a liaison and continuously collaborates with clinical areas, revenue cycle leaders and Epic IT resources. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action. Manages staff to assure accountability and stewardship of department resources (operational, financial, and human) in compliance with departmental goals and objectives. Required Qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle and its component operations, including billing, collections, charge capture, contractual adjustments, third-party reimbursements, government programs, contracted private insurance and cash management. Hospital and professional experience preferred.
  • Management and supervisory experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) and International Classification of Disease (ICD-10) policies related to medical billing
  • Ability to comprehend and navigate through the complexities of the Epic System to be able to retrieve, change and adjust account information and create estimates
  • Extensive knowledge of eligibility, authorization and benefit verification
  • Advanced skill in analyzing a variety of factors regarding eligibility, third party payors, authorization and benefit limits to determine the need for further facts or administrative consultation
  • Extensive analytical skills to assess account balances
  • Advanced ability to analyze and interpret various types of Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and Remittance Advice (RA)
  • Ability to comply with strict confidentiality standards
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, FDCPA and other credit and collections rules and regulations

  • Call center experience
