Education, Health & Society:  Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs and Graduate Education, reporting to the Dean, to work in partnership with department chairs to support and direct initiatives in three main areas of responsibility: Faculty Recruitment, Retention, and Development; Graduate Education; and Research and Sponsored Programs; teach one course per year in home department.

Duties:

Faculty Recruitment, Retention, & Development

• Oversee search committee processes in all EHS departments.
• Coordinate onboarding and mentorship support for all new faculty (e.g., visiting, Teaching/Clinical Professors or Lecturers (TCPL), and Tenure Track) and targeted mentorship for faculty of color.
• Provide regular and continuing guidance and support to all faculty seeking promotion (e.g., TCPL, Tenured, and Tenure Track faculty).
• Facilitate informational meetings for all faculty who are seeking tenure and/or promotion.
• Meet regularly with Department Chairs to discuss and resolve ongoing matters related to faculty success (i.e. workload, compliance, etc.).
• Coordinate and assess faculty professional development.
• Conduct annual reviews of pre-tenure and/or pre-promotion faculty as delegated by the Dean.
• Review and approve all staff and faculty annual reviews, except direct reports to Dean.

Graduate Education

• Convene the EHS graduate curriculum committee.
• Ensure compliance of all EHS graduate programs with all university and state mandates.
• Oversee and approve the dissemination of Graduate Assistantships throughout the College.                             

Research and Sponsored Programs

• Supervise the Division’s grant facilitator and the faculty grant fellow.
• Update and post the EHS Grants and Awards Booklet and convene the awards committee.
• Oversee all EHS research/practice centers: Center for Mindfulness & Contemplative Inquiry, Sexuality Education Studies Center, Discovery Center, and Center for Human Development, Learning and Technology.

Require:  An earned PhD in a discipline within one of the College’s five departments: Teacher Education, Educational Leadership, Educational Psychology, Family Science and Social Work, and Kinesiology and Health; record of teaching, research, and service that qualify the candidate to be a tenured, full professor in the College. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership, organizational, collaboration and mentorship skills and be able to demonstrate a productive commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion across all areas of responsibility.  This position is available to persons who are currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time and indefinite basis.  (Persons authorized to work on such a basis include US citizens, lawful permanent residents (“green card” holders), asylees, refugees, and temporary residents under IRCA.)
