Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions, a private institution located in Provo, Utah, invites applications from qualified, passionate, nurse practitioners seeking an adjunct faculty position in a post-master’s PMHNP certificate program. Faculty members of the Nursing program have academic, instruction, service, practice and/or scholarship responsibilities consistent with the mission and philosophy of the program. Faculty members participate in university governance and assist the program director to plan, coordinate, facilitate, administer, and monitor all activities related to the program. Faculty members report directly to the Department Chair. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Communication 1. Maintain optimal communication with administration, faculty, students and community partners regarding university and program initiatives Student Instruction and Curriculum Management 1. Participate in Nursing program curriculum and course design, assessment, and evaluation 2. Participate in Nursing student admission, progression, and advisement activities 3. Prepare class materials using best practices in higher education and graduate nursing practice 4. Provide direct student instruction in online, on-site, and clinical settings Governance 1. Initiate, adopt, evaluate and advance the Nursing program’s mission, goals and program outcomes 2. Provide opportunity for students and peers to evaluate teaching effectiveness 3. Evaluate and recommend faculty members for promotion 4. Participate in all regularly scheduled Nursing meetings and other University events Scholarship and/or Practice 1. Engage in scholarly activities commensurate with appointment and rank 2. Maintain a clinical practice commensurate with licensure and appropriate for appointment and rank Leadership and Service 1. Serve on program, university, state, and national committees that are appropriate for their rank and experience 2. Participate in professional and community activities for the purpose of bringing education, service, and research together for the improvement of health care delivery 3. Accept opportunities for membership on standing and ad-hoc committees of the program and University as elected or appointed The above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this classification.
