Has primary responsibility for student loan pipeline management, school client customer service and member support.
Pipeline Management, Loan Origination and Servicing
Proactively monitors student loan portfolio; identifies and recommends opportunities to create efficiencies or improve delivery of products and services.
Reacts appropriately during peak processing season, overseeing timely completion of applications and loan disbursements and providing prompt response to school and borrower inquiries.
Provides feedback to management concerning member issues that affect the organization and helps to develop solutions that improve service delivery and the member experience.
Maintains strong relationships with loan origination vendor, working closely with key contacts to resolve system and processing issues.
School Client Management, Customer Service and Member Support
Nurturing new business and managing legacy portfolio across all loan stages, proactively identifying opportunities to engage with members and establish long-lasting relationships
Facilitating in-person and phone meetings with members to provide support and guidance through the loan application and repayment processes.
Accommodates school client requests for on-campus support, manages loan closing events and supports exit counseling initiatives.
Actively gathers client and member feedback to improve loan products, systems and the member experience, and identifies areas for product development.
Student Lending Policies & Compliance
Maintains appropriate level of knowledge related to credit union student lending policies, and applicable state and federal government rules and regulations.
Supports management with internal, state and federal audits, collecting needed documentation and helping to implement changes in response to findings.
Systems, Reporting and Data Analytics
Responsible for learning and maintaining knowledge of credit union core banking systems and loan origination and servicing platforms. Properly document all member interactions and develop procedures for tracking and assessment.
Collaborate with stakeholders internally and externally to develop and monitor file and data transfer and to resolve exceptions and problem accounts.
Produce portfolio reports utilizing third party systems, effectively manage and manipulate data to report requested and contractually obligated metrics to senior staff, finance and school partners.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with educational loan servicing partner to ensure timely processing of repayment benefits and successful loan repayment.
Works closely with retail and Support Center staff as a liaison for educational lending programs.
Assists in training needs assessment and the development, implementation, delivery and on-going evaluation of student lending education for HUECU staff and other officials.
Works closely with the Collections Department to coordinate borrower communications, and produce risk-share data for school partners.
Performs other job related duties and assignments as necessary.

Associates Degree or related training beyond high school.
A minimum of two years of educational lending, financial aid and/or finance experience in a high volume setting.
Strong knowledge of principles and practices of educational lending, finance and/or financial aid.
Business writing skills to support borrower interactions through multiple channels.
Successful experience interacting with culturally diverse populations.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite with a comprehensive understanding of Excel.
Entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to take the initiative to accomplish challenging tasks and identify alternative solutions.
Demonstrated presentation skills.
Ideal candidates will be highly organizational, analytical and detailed orientated.
Willingness to work additional hours during peak periods, which may include nights and weekends.
