The College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) seeks to hire a full-time Grant Administrator 1that will support the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computing Science (EECS). The Grant Administrator 1 will report to the Research Development Manager and will engage in the day-to-day administration of specialized activities related to grant administration for the newly formed NSF Center for Hardware and Embedded Systems Security and Trust (CHEST) Industry/University Cooperative Research Center (IUCRC), provide recommendation and advice to management or other groups on process related topics and conduct or carry out work procedures and activities in accordance with local, state, federal, and university regulations.

The Center for Hardware and Embedded Systems Security and Trust (CHEST) coordinates university-based research with needs of industry and government partners to advance knowledge of security, assurance, and trust for electronic hardware and embedded systems. The Center is inventing and disseminating technologies, practices, and guidelines to stakeholders and educating a next generation of experts.
Oversee assigned accounts to ensure compliance with grant terms and conditions, funding agency regulations and Uniform Guidance;
Manage the timely and accurate setup of the sponsored awards; financial reporting to the sponsoring agencies, invoicing and closeout of sponsored awards, and respective cost shares;
Route and track proposals for each new or amended Industry Partner Agreement;
Prepare contracts for review by the Office of General Counsel;
Prepare and manage accurate invoices/draws and financial reports;
Review and reconcile charges on sponsored awards;
Communicate with sponsors regarding invoicing and collections and serve as an expert in sponsored administration by providing knowledgeable courteous advice and service to all stakeholders;
Review routine journal entries to ensure they are prepared in a timely fashion, accurately, accompanied with proper supporting documentation and in line with allowable requirements of the sponsored agency;
Insure all Industry Partners’ membership dues are properly documented, routed, tracked, and deposited into appropriate accounts.
Process travel expense reports for program participants and partners.
Perform other related duties based on program needs.
Bachelor's degree; - OR- Associate's degree and two (2) years’ experience; -OR- four (4) years’ experience.
Degree must be in accounting or related field with related finance or accounting experience.
Experience providing superior customer service and counsel to multiple levels of leadership within a large organization.
Effective and professional verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while supporting the team’s strategic plan.
Post-award sponsored administration experience.
Working knowledge of SAP Financials and Business Warehouse reporting.
