The Director of Recruitment and Partnerships is responsible for the recruitment strategies of currently 35 biomedical graduate programs including certificate, masters, and PhD programs. S/he develops and maintains relationships with academic institutions, professional societies, and companies that will result in ROI of the initiatives. The incumbent is also responsible for the training and development of more than 15 Biomedical Graduate Education (BGE) program coordinators in recruitment. Reporting directly to the Assistant Dean for Graduate and Postdoctoral Training and Development, and working closely with the Office of Digital Communication and Marketing, the Director of Recruitment and Partnerships has additional duties that include but are not limited:
Recruitment Analysis and Planning
Contacts the current 35 BGE programs on targeted recruitment strategies, serving as subject matter expert on recruitment strategy and consulting graduate programs on individual recruitment strategies tailored to their unique audiences.
Works with program directors and administrators of currently 35 graduate programs within BGE to set priorities for targeted recruitment efforts that result in positive ROI
Develops yearly domestic and international recruitment strategy that is data-driven and evidence-based, training more than 15 program administrators on program content and best-recruitment practices.
Analyzes admissions decisions from last few years to identify potential pipeline universities and undergraduate program.
Manages admissions and outcomes data to determine trends in career changes that are facilitated by our programs, and build partnerships with industry to pipeline non-traditional students
Analyzes program-specific outcomes data and generate program-specific figures for one-page information sheets, and associated webpages, for each of 35 graduate programs, updating these figures biannually.
Works with program directors of currently 35 graduate programs within BGE to understand the program and the kind of student that the program attracts and identifies the needs of recruitment needed for their program based on data.
Conducts market research on audiences and media outlets for recruitment, preparing creative briefs and/or project briefs to focus marketing strategies toward audience profiles, to outline project scope, and to justify the expenditure of resources.
Recommends changes or enhancements to existing recruitment programs based on continuous feedback and evaluation.
Conducts and analyzes market trend analysis for new programs during its proposal phase, designing graphics for specific recruitment initiatives.
Updates content directly to BGE programs and central websites using WordPress.
Generates the annual recruitment calendar and budget for all costs associated with recruitment travel, materials, and events for the upcoming year.
Works with program directors and program administrators of currently 35 graduate programs for their engagement and involvement in the recruitment process, traveling to conferences and institutions.
Develops and delivers career development seminars combined with information sessions to help prospective students align their career goals with prospective graduate training.
Orchestrates travel logistics including all administrative and financial processes associated with recruitment for faculty and staff on behalf of BGE.
Hosts site visits for visiting students, staff, and faculty from feeder schools to meet with our current students and faculty, developing, creating, and implementing social media tactics for recruitment.
Creates ambassador initiatives to introduce alumni to prospective students either in an online setting or in the geographical area of the prospective students
Collaborates with faculty and staff to assemble content, and regularly distribute updated information (e.g. fact sheets, brochures) pertaining to graduate programs and application procedures. Work with Communications Specialist on design
Promotes BGE in engaging prospective and current students through major social media outlets, including Facebook and Twitter, overDay to day management of social media accounts (facebook and twitter)
Develops and implements outreach strategies to increase the visibility of the BGE regionally, nationally and internationally to result in a positive impact on the BGE's reputation across its stakeholder groups, an increase in the number of qualified applications for the graduate and executive professional education programs, and a continued positive impact on internship, job, and related opportunities for BGE graduates.
Evaluates recruitment strategies by tracking uptake of materials at conferences and fairs, and applications resulting from recruitment interventions.
Provides various student-centered services to enhance enrollment and retention of graduate students.
Internal and External Partnerships and Collaborations
Represents BGE to internal and external constituencies and liaises with other Georgetown and peer schools, determining strategic initiatives with key partners and stakeholders, such as existing partners in China, India, and Taiwan.
Develops creative tuition strategies that align with the Georgetown mission, enrollment, and net tuition revenue goals.
Defines metrics and trends to measure the success of internal and external partnerships and collaborations.
Coordinates educational collaboration agreements domestically and internationally to establish pipeline programs with institutions in the academic, industry, and government sectors.
Travels to key stakeholders domestically and internationally to visit with potential donors and academic/research partners.
Forges relationships with professional societies to access discipline-specific markets .
Conducts and analyzes admissions data to determine and assess each of the partnerships and collaborations and make a determination of future strategies that would yield positive ROI.
Conducts welcome events and other students' events that would foster the relationship with our partner institution.
Monitors and manages the Recruitment budget.
Tracks outcomes of scholarship recipients to measure impact of the scholarship programs to recruitment.
Populates alumni outcomes database will all fields from recruitment data.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean for Graduate and Postdoctoral Training & Development and the Senior Associate Dean for Biomedical Graduate Education.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree; Degree with recruitment or science background preferred
4-5 years of work experience in higher education or related field
Strong data management, analytical, research, and organizational skills with exquisite attention to detail.
Outstanding organizational skills, excellent time management, and ability to major complex operations in a fast-paced environment
Experience with proofreading, editing, and writing and understanding of writing and positioning of digital content
Experience using all major social media platforms such as, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn
A track record of success in partnering and developing successful long-term collaborative relationships
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment that requires quick turnaround and quality output
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to complete tasks on time and with minimal supervision
Self-motivated, ability to set goals and execute business development activities with confidence
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with experience with Google collaboration tools and Microsoft Office suite
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to juggle many different projects simultaneously with consistent accuracy, follow-through, and timely completion of projects
Must be willing to travel both domestically and internationally
Master's degree in a science-related field
Experience in survey and mailing platforms such as Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, MailChimp, and Google Forms
International travel experience
