The Manufacturing Operations Support Engineer works within the Operations organization to provide local engineering support to the manufacturing plant. Lead and/or participate in activities to sustain all shop floor operations, investigate and resolve issues, and to improve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity performance at the manufacturing plant. Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercises good judgement in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
Provide daily shop floor operation engineering support to the manufacturing plant.
Develop and maintain process design and process control documentation, manufacturing routings, and Detailed Work Instructions (DWI).
Support plant engineering and maintenance activities.
Design and maintain assembly line and cell layouts.
Lead issue investigation and resolution in the plant. Collaborate with other engineers within and from other locations to achieve proper level of corrective and preventative action.
Ensure adherence to standardization and governance requirements for all new process design and process improvements.
Participate in new product and process design reviews for New Product Introduction (NPI) and Continuation Engineering projects.
Provide local support to projects that will enable the plants to meet annual productivity goals and reduce/eliminate safety and ergonomic risk in the manufacturing work environment.
Identify assembly equipment, tooling, and fixture requirements. Participate in the procurement, installation and validation activities.
Provide recommendations, requirements, and justifications to support investigation and evaluation of new manufacturing technologies.
Assist with the implementation of IT security and business productivity initiatives in the manufacturing plants.
Provide support for the development and deployment of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and information management systems in the plants.
Communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form, to a broad audience of varying technical and cultural backgrounds.
Collaborate with others from within and outside of the Operations group to achieve common objectives.
Conduct tasks in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations (state/federal laws, ISO9001, ISO14000, etc.) as well as Rockwell Automation policies and procedures.
