The Springfield Headquarters is currently seeking a senior-level Hydropower Engineer in our Engineering & Operations Division. This position will be dedicated to hydropower project management oversight and will provide technical feedback on rehabilitation, repair or replacement projects, including the economic implications of maintenance or design alternatives. This position will also provide consulting services to Southwestern Power Resources Association (SPRA) to ensure the projects are chosen, designed and funded in the best interests of the SPRA members. Interfacing will be primarily with AECI leadership and staff, SPRA staff, and external counterparts at Southwestern Power Administration and US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).
What are we looking for?
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/related discipline (e.g. electrical, mechanical, civil or similar)
Minimum 8 years of engineering experience, preferably with hydroelectric plant electrical systems and/or equipment
Working knowledge and demonstrated experience in all aspects of hydropower engineering design, construction, operations and maintenance, instrumentation and sensing, and optimization is strongly preferred
Experience with USACE hydropower projects, government contracting and project management is desirable
A strategic and innovative thinker with proven ability to communicate vision, drive results and work collaboratively with internal and external professionals at all levels
PE license preferred
Ability to travel 20%
