This position directs and oversees the Project Management Office (PMO) and staff to ensure programs and projects meet organizational goals. Develops and implements PMO processes and policies ensuring continued growth and maturity of the services provided. Works with institutional leadership to strategize, define, prioritize, and develop projects and programs in a shared governance model. Is responsible for the planning, coordination and management of multiple projects of various sizes and scopes. The Director works closely with the leads, managers, staff, students, and faculty in a liaison role. Position also has frequent external contact with vendors, user groups, and consultants/contractors.
Demonstrated ability and/or experience working with students and/or co-workers from a wide range of abilities, backgrounds, and experiences.
Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Computer Science, Information Management, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Organizational Change, or a related field.
5+ years of relevant experience managing and delivering projects.
3+ years planning and managing project initiatives in a Project Management Office or similar team environment.
3+ years of experience with Project Management Tools such as Microsoft Project and Microsoft SharePoint.
A proven track record of successfully implementing large, complex projects with multi-function teams.
Ability to proactively lead a team in the accomplishment of assigned projects and tasks;
Strong professional, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills;
OR applicable combination of education and/or experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
Master's degree or higher in Project Management, Computer Science, Information Management, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Organizational Change, or related field.
