The Executive Assistant provides comprehensive executive-level administrative and analytical support for the Chief of Police and the Chief's executive team, which includes the Assistant Chief of Police, Operations Lieutenant, Services Lieutenant, Public Safety Lieutenant, Emergency Management Director, and the Administrative Services Director. This position is a crucial point of contact for the Chief of Police and the department?s executive team and requires knowledge and understanding of the overall campus and its objectives. The incumbent will ensure that services in support of the Chief of Police and executive team are delivered with the highest level of insight, tact, diplomacy, and courtesy, reflective of the public service and outreach mission of the department and the university. In all matters, anticipate needs or problems, and proactively address them whenever possible. Provide backup administrative and coordinative support to the division directors as needed and as time permits. The incumbent carries a commitment to integrity and excellence; acts as liaison and representative for the office to all levels of university administration, faculty and staff, University of California Office of the President, government agencies, public officials, and members of the public. Responsibilities include managing complex calendars, general administrative and office management support, coordinating travel arrangements, planning meetings and events, preparing correspondence, reports, and presentations, tracking projects, managing expenses, contact lists, administrative information, and records.
