Under the supervision of the Dean of Admissions, the Senior Admissions Officer(s) will have responsibility for coordinating one or more of the following projects which may rotate among Senior Admissions Officer(s) as determined by the Dean of Admissions:
Coordinate special programs and serve as department liaison to the double degree program with the Jewish Theological Seminary; coordinate the Levy and Scholars of Distinction selection programs
Coordinate and direct all aspects of the BSAR (Barnard student admissions representative) tour guide program, including supervising over 60 BSARs.
Management and coordination of event programs for underrepresented populations, including Barnard Bound and Pre-Open House, including process management and applicant evaluation
Coordinate the Barnard Alumnae Admissions Representatives program (BAAR); plan spring regional receptions in collaboration with Alumnae Affairs.
Serve as a member of the communications/marketing team. Duties may include focusing on social media development, website management and maintenance; Coordinate, manage, and supervise Social Media Barnard Student Admissions Representatives (Social Media BSAR) program; creating editorial content for website/blogs/social media
Other duties may include assistance with transfer admission program; coordination of deferral/forward process, assistance with athletic recruiting; liaison to music lessons exchange programs.
Required Qualification Summary:
Bachelor's degree from a liberal arts institution
Two or more years of experience in college admissions or related position.
Effective and persuasive communication and interpersonal skills.
some experience with supervision
Excellent conceptual and analytical skills.
High personal energy level and stamina.
Willingness and ability to travel for up to two weeks at a time.
Valid driver's license.
